What the customer needed resolved

Cash Converters Singapore was running an ERP system in Microsoft Azure and reported that its recurring cloud-hosting cost had become disproportionately high for the workload. The business needed a more cost-efficient environment without sacrificing ERP responsiveness, database reliability or operational support. Storage performance affecting the database was also identified as an important bottleneck to address during the move.

How the project was handled

  • Reviewed the ERP workload, database dependencies, resource usage and migration constraints before recommending a replacement environment.

  • Right-sized a managed VPS configuration with dedicated compute, memory and high-performance NVMe storage for the database workload.

  • Prepared the destination environment, access controls, backups and application dependencies before the production move.

  • Migrated the ERP application and database in a controlled sequence, then validated application access and core business functions after cutover.

  • Reviewed database and storage performance after migration and addressed the identified disk-related bottlenecks on the managed VPS platform.

The documented result

According to QUAPE project records, the new managed VPS reduced recurring hosting cost to approximately one quarter of the previous Azure cost—an estimated saving of about 75%. The customer reported being satisfied with the resulting performance, and the identified database storage bottlenecks were addressed using higher-performance NVMe storage. Results are specific to this workload and do not imply that every Azure migration will produce the same saving.

Evidence boundary

QUAPE project record supplied by the project team. The percentage compares the customer’s reported previous Azure infrastructure cost with the new managed VPS cost. Absolute invoices, workload details and a preserved before-and-after benchmark dataset are not published, so no universal cost or speed guarantee is made.
