Before Deployment

What to include in your infrastructure brief

Start with the problem you want to solve, not a list of specifications.

Workload and capacity

Share the application, operating system, users, database size, storage growth and peak demand. Include any licensing or vendor requirements.

Connectivity and access

Discuss bandwidth, port speed, IP allocation, remote access and the locations of your users. Latency depends on their network path as well as server location.

Continuity and recovery

Agree backup scope, restoration tests and recovery targets. Check the applicable power and network commitments in your quotation.

Migration and management

Set out who handles system updates, application support, cutover testing and rollback. For colocation, include rack dimensions and equipment power draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

Infrastructure planning questions

Have a requirement that is not covered here? Ask Our Team

What standards apply to my service?

Ask QUAPE for the applicable facility and service documentation, including its scope and validity. A facility standard is not a blanket certification of your application or every hosting plan.

Are backups and application support included?

Check the chosen plan and written scope. Hosting, system administration, application support and recovery can have different responsibilities and charges.
